Week 2: Observation

In this week’s class, we took a look at how we can become excellent observers of children.  If we know where our students are at in their development, we can meet their needs better.  Don’t forget to find a child that you can observe for your next big assignment!  Remember:
  • Four to twelve years old, international age (12 months after birth = one year old)
  • You can observe your own child, but it's easier to be objective when you observe another person’s child.
  • When you have a child in mind, read the chapters in Yardsticks for the years surrounding the child’s age (if 7 years old, read chapters on ages 6, 7, and 8).

Good Luck!!

And here's something just for fun!
