For this week we looked a little further into the concepts covered in our previous lesson. Hopefully the last couple of weeks have either changed the way you think about education or strengthened beliefs that you already had. If you're thirsty for more, watch this:
Notice that you can watch this with Korean subtitles if you would like. The ideas are not really anything new, but he presents them in a very meaningful and touching way. Also, here are some documents from class:
- 8 different products using multiple intelligences
- Language activities that use_multiple_intelligences
Next week (week 9) you will need to bring your up-to-date portfolio to class.
During class we will be doing activities using the items in the portfolio. This will probably be very challenging at first, but by the end of this class, you should have a good idea about the difference between the different intelligences. Again, it is very necessary to bring the portfolio. If you forget, you will have nothing to for the class time and your participation grade will be affected. So don't forget!
As for this week...
As for this week...
Before you come to class, just like last week, I need you to be familiar with the 8 intelligences’ names and basic characteristics. To help you focus on the important parts (for this week’s class), you can do the following things:
- Read this: a short summary of the intelligences (.pdf file).
- See if you can remember the 8 intelligences by memory. (You might want to draw a simple picture for each intelligence).
- See if you can give examples of activities for each intelligence.
Here is some additional (optional!!!) reading material.
- Another reading about MI and learning styles (source: http://projects.coe.uga.edu/epltt/index.php?title=Multiple_Intelligences_and_Learning_Styles)
- Alternate multiple intelligences reading for week
